Both of my parents were therapists. I enjoy creative direction in the kitchen, though my husband does the cooking.

As a partner and organizational designer at IDEO, I’m passionate about how creative leadership can unlock innovation and growth. My work at IDEO has focused on higher education, but spans industries. I have worked in in media, financial services and professional services to build innovation capabilities at all levels, and with schools like Lakeland Community College, Cornell University, NYU, and Bowdoin College to design strategies, brands, and new student and employee experiences.

Prior to IDEO, I spent six years at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), leading the communications group. I’ve also led innovation partnership programs between academia and corporations at the MIT Media Lab and RISD. I hold an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BA in Psychology from Wesleyan University.

I co-authored the book Redesigning Leadership with former RISD president John Maeda, and I serve on the Board of Trustees for the New England Conservatory.
